LIQUOR LICENCES GRANTED
LYTTELTON DISTRICT SATISFACTORY CONDUCT OF HOTELS On the whole, thte police reports showed that the conduct of hotels in the district had been satisfactory, said the chairman (Mr Rex. C. Abernethy, S.M.) at the annual meeting of the Lyttelton Licensing Committee yesterday. An application by Thomas Lancelot Blumsky for the transfer of the licence of the Mitre Hotel, Lyttelton, to Harold Eugene Hayward, was granted. Applications for the issue of publicans’ licences were granted to John Frederick Alexander Fox (Grand Hotel, Akaroa); Patrick Stanley Revel Curtis (Metropole Hotel, Akaroa): Harold Eugene Hayward (Mitre Hotel, Lyttelton); and Frank Mitchell (Saxon Hotel, Lyttelton).
Applications for renewal of publicans’ licences were granted to Howard James Smith (Albion Hotel. Lyttelton); Albert Franklin (British Hotel, Lyttelton); Eric John Little - (Bruce Hotel. Akaroa); Alan Scott (Canterbury Hotel, Lyttelton); Peter William King (Cave Rock Hotel, Sumner); William Alexander Anderson (Crown Hotel, Duvauchelle); Alan James Bisman (Empire Hotel, Lyttelton); Henry Lester Clarkson (Little River Hotel); Alan John Little (Lyttelton Hotel); Walter Francis Barbour (Madeira Hotel, Akaroa); Albert John Robert Johnson (Marine Hotel, Sufriner); David Rogers (Ocean View Hotel, Governor’s Bay); Cyril Lloyd Flattery (Royal Hotel, Lyttelton); Alfred John Randle (Valley Inn Hotel. Heathcote); Robert Samuel Stafford (Woolston Hotel). Accommodation licences were renewed for the Hilltop Hotel, Barry’s Bay (Ira Desmond Beatty), and the Wheatsheaf Hotel, Teddington (Mary Elizabeth Packer). a A wholesaler’s licence was granted to R Powley and Company (Canterbury), Ltd., Woolston. • Wine-sellers’ licences were renewed on the application of Lewis (Redcliffs), Ltd., and Leo Campbell Waters, Nayland street, Sumner.
