(Rec. 12.15 a.m.) LONDON. June 8. • “Dr. Raab, of Austria, Marshal Tito, Mr Nehru and now Dr. Adenauer—-no-one can say that Moscow’s diplomats are not earning their keep in the search for new friends,” says the "News Chronicle” in a leading article. "It may well be that Dr. Adenauer's hurried recall last month of the West German ambassadors in London, Paris and Washington was. as we suggested at the time, brought about by the possibility of an invitation to Moscow. “Russia’s approach to West Germany and its outcome are crucial tests of her sincerity. ‘‘Soviet leaders who know their man cannot hope to wean Dr. Adenauer away from the West, and much as the West German Chancellor longs for the reunification of Germany, he will never accept neutrality as the price of unity,” said the newspaper.
