FIRST PERFORMANCE IN BRITAIN (From the London Correspondent of "The Press") LONDON, June 1. “Interludium for Strings” by the New Zealand composer, Max Saunders, will be performed by the 8.8. C. Midland Orchestra, conducted by Gilbert Vinter, in the Home Service proZ-■ Time this month. It will be performed again by the Leighton Lucas Orchestra, conducted by Leighton Lucas, in the Third Programme on July 6. Max Saunders’s “Five Fancies” for violin and viola have just been published, and his trio for flute, viola and bassoon is to be published in London in. the autumn.
