OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press’- Special Service WELLINGTON. June 6. The weather forecast, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, for the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation: a depression east of the North Island is moving away, and a ridge of high pressure is over the South Island. Forecast:— Nelson, Marlborough, and the West Coast.—South-easterly winds, fresh at times in exposed places; weather, fair apart from isolated showers about the ranges and in coastal Marlborough in the morning; cool temperatures. Canterbury.—Light to moderate winds, north-easterlies predominating near the coast; fair to cloudy weather, with cold temperatures. Outlook: fair. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was •vercast and calm. At midnight the sky was cloudy and there was no wind. The temperature - was 33.5 degrees.
