HINT OF TAX REDUCTIONS
MR WATTS REFUSES TO COMMENT (New Zealand Press Association) m WELLINGTON, June 2. The Minister of Finance (Mr J. T. Watts) today declined to comment on the hint of his predecessor in office, the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) that the forthcoming Budget might provide taxation reductions. “Wait and see,” said Mr Watts, when the Budget comes down.” The Minister said the task of preparing his first Budget was interesting but arduous and that the process contained many intricacies. “I am well on with the preparatory work,” he added.
