NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Rangiora Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 25th day of May, 1955, the following Resolution to take effect as a Special Order was passed and will be submitted for cpnfirmatxon at an ORDINARY meeting of the Council to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Wednesday, the 22nd day of June, 1955, in the Council Chambers, Percival street, Rangiora:— RESOLUTION. IN PURSUANCE and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1954, and by the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and by virtue of the Sanction of the Local Government Loans Board granted at a meeting of the Board held on May 18, 1955, the Rangiora Borough Council hereby resolves by way of Special Order as follows: (1) That the Rangiora Borough Council proceed to raise a loan of £2OOO for the purpose of advancing money to an employee to build a dwelling on his land. * (2) That such Loan be known as The Worker’s Dwelling (Advance) Loan, 1955. (3) That the term for which the said Loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be twenty-five years. (4) That the rate of interest that may be paid in respect of the said loan or any part thereof shall be such as shall not produce to the lender or lenders a rate exceeding four per cent, per annum. (5) That the said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments extending over the term of the loan, namely twenty-five years. (6) That the payments of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand, and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan moneys. (7) That the rate payable for brokerage, underwriting and procuration fees in respect of the raising of the said loan or any parts thereof shall not in the aggregate exceed one-half per centum of any amount raised. (8) That the security for the payment of the said half-yearly or yearly instalments of principal and interest shall take the form of debentures in conformity with the requirements of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” and that such debentures shall be executed, sealed and issued. (9) That for the security for the said loan and interest thereon as aforesaid, and for the purpose of securing payment of the said debentures, a Special Annual Recurring Rate of decimal three fivepence in the pound (£) appropriated and pledged, such rate being upon and calculated on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) and levied over all rateable property within the Borough of Rangiora. It is hereby further publicly notified that a poll of ratepayers is required to be taken if five per cent, of the ratepayers of the borough so demand, by writing under their hands delivered or sent by post to the undersigned before the date fixed for the confirmation of the resolution hereinbefore mentioned. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the said rate will become payable at the offices of the Board in one sum on the Ist day of August 1955, and that the Rate Book is open for inspection without fee by ratepayers between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. An additional charge of 10 per cent, will be added to all rates unpaid at the expiration of «ix months and fourteen days from the date of demand, and shall be payable and recoverable accordingly.
