The Minister of Justice (Mr J. R. Marshall)- announced yesterday that the Queen has been pleased to confer the title of “Honourable” on Mr E P. Hay, who recently retired from the Supreme Court Bench.—(P.A.) Major G. C. Weston, Ist Battalion, Canterbury Regiment, has relinquished the. appointment of Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General at 3rd Infantry Brigade Headquarters, and ceases to be seconded, according to a Gazette notice. ,
Major J. C. White, Reserve of Officers, General List, Royal New Zealand Infantry Corps, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant-colonel and appointed director of the New Zealand Army Legal Service. Mr G. H. Lusk, a solicitor, of Palmerston North, has been appointed a deputy of the members of the Air Services Licensing Authority, according to a Gazette notice.
Mr V. G. Hiff, formerly of Christchurch, has been appointed presiof the Insurance Institute of New Zealand. He is manager of the Sun Insurance Office, Ltd., Auckland. Mr H. G. Hartnell has been appointed a member of the Culverden Rabbit Board. He replaces Mr W. A. Lake, who has resigned.
