MAN AGAIN REMANDED ON MURDER CHARGE

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 27. Edward Thomas Te Whiu, aged 20, a labourer,’ appeared in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of murdering Mrs Florence Jane Smith, aged 76, a widow, at Ngararatunua, near Whangarei, on April 28. He was remanded until next Friday. Detective-Sergeant F. A. Gordon told the Court that inquiries had not yet been completed, and no date had been fixed for hearing the charge at Whangarei.
