BURNHAM SPORTS TOURNAMENT
AUSTRALIAN NAVY PLAYS ARMY Teams from the Visiting aircraftcarrier H.M.A.S. Sydney and the Army played Bugby football, basketball, Association football and hockey at Burnham Camp yesterday. Results were:— ; Rugby football: Burnham military trainees 32, national Servicemen from the Sydney 0; regular ship’s crew 13, Burnham Regular Force 10. Basketball: Burnham Regular Force 52, regular ship’s crew 35; Burnham military trainees 40, national servicemen from the Sydney 20. Association football:' Burnham Regular Force 6, regular ship’s crew 1. Hockey: Burnham Regular Force 4, regular ship’s crew 2. ’ In an Australian rules football match, the regular ship’s team beat the national servicemen by 72 to 58.
