Britain won all the singles except on® in which Mrs G. Valentine,, the British women’s open champion, was beaten 3 and 2 by Miss Arlette Jacquet, the 24-year-old Belgian champion. CHEVIOT CLUB The following are results of competitions played recently by the x Cheviot Golf Club: — Connemara Cup qualifiers:, G. Mackie 71. H. R. Wilson 72, E. R. Harrison 75, A. Lundy 76, M. Childs 80, M. Scott and J. Wade 81. Mixed foursome tournament, 27 holes: M. Childs and Mrs K. Nicholas. Morning round: K. N. Nicholas and Mrs J. H. Ensor. Afternoon round: R. Winskill and Mrs N. Parsonsbn.
