The South African vcricketers, enjoying really warm .weather for the first time on their tour of England, today produced their best form so far to gain a handsome lead over a strong M.C.C. side at Lords The tourists, who had declared on Saturday at nine for 185, dismissed the M.C.C. today for 87 runs. They had increased their lead to 274 by the close of play, having scored 176 for the loss of five wickets in their second innings. The individual South African honours of the day, in which team work was the keynote, belonged to Roy McLean, who scored 85, and to the slow bowlers.
