INDIA-PAKISTAN AGREEMENT
BORDER FORCES TO BE REDUCED (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) ) NEW DELHI, May 17. India and Pakistan tonight announced an agreement to cut their border forces and the arms they carry to prevent frontier incidents. The two countries reached agreement in talks between Major-General Iskander Mirza, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, and Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, India’s Home Minister. An official communique said that the two Ministers discussed the prevention of border incidents and the maintenance and preservation of shrines and holy places in the two countries. “Complete agreement was reached on these issues,’’ it said.
