THE HEAVIEST SEA AT SUMNER FOR MORE THAN A YEAR.—This photograph, taken early yesterday afternoon, shows the sea thrusting against the rock wall in front of the Sumner Surf Club’s pavilion. The foreshore protective work carried out in recent months withstood the battering of the heaviest sea for more than a year, and there was no damage of consequence.
