NEW WATCH FOR QUEEN
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, May 11. The Queen was yesterday presented with the smallest wrist watch ever made in Britain at the British Industries Fair in London. The watch, just over half an inch long, has a 17-jewel movement, with a gold case. The spokesman for the manufacturers said that it was hoped that the watch would compensate the Queen for the one she lost early this year. She lost her tiny Swiss-made watch while walking with her Corgi dogs. Described as one of the smallest watches in the world, the missing watch was said to be worth £3OO. It was presented by President Lebrun of France to the Queen when, as Princess Elizabeth, she visited Paris in 1938.
