A Helensville sportsman, Mr N. Smith, while shooting game a year ago brought down a cock pheasant. The bird was little hurt. Mr Smith took it home and looked after it. A month after the season closed, he put a copper band, inscribed with his name, around the bird’s leg and liberated it. This week while out shooting near the town ho shot the same bird on a double rise. The bird was flushed by the same dog and was a little fatter. >
