WOMAN CYCLIST ATTACKED

A middle-aged woman cyclist was attacked by a man last evening at the corner of Avonside Drive and Galbraith avenue.

The woman had ridden from St Albans, along Medway street aiidi across the river where she was looking for Ngißrimu street, about 7.30 p.m. When she looked up to read the sign at Galbraith avenue she received a severe blow on the side of the head from a man who had cycled up behind her. Her screams attracted the attention of Mr N. L. Pannell, of 448 Avonside Drive, who was putting his milk bottles near the gate. He assisted the woman into his home and called the police who were investigating the matter last evening.
