TEA PRICE DOWN IN BRITAIN
(Rec. 9 p.m.) LONDON. April 27. British warehouses are bulging with tea that cannot be sold, and the price keeps tumbling, the “Daily Express reported today. Three months ago there was a near famine of tea. Then it cost 8s per lb. Soon it may be down to ss.
False Alarm.—-All available police cars and detectives in the east of London were rushed to the Tower of London early today when the automatic alarm in the Jewel House went off. A police launch was ordered to stand off the tower pier, but it was a false alarm.—London, April 27.
