ARMY PROMOTION COURSES

Thirty-one teachers in post-primary schools who are officers in the New Zealand Cadet Corps will attend the 1955 confirmation-of-commission course at Bumham Military Camp from May 11 to May 22. The officers, who at present hold probationary commissions, will come from schools in all parts of the South Island. One will come from Dannevirke High School. Regular Force officers in the Southern Military District will attend promotion courses at the camp next month. Thirteen will be tested for a lieutenant-to-captain promotion from May 11 to May 16, and another 13 will be examined for promotions from captain to major from May 17 to May 22. Lieutenant-Colonel J. A. Worsnop will be commandant of the courses. His adjutant will be Captain W. A. Staff.
