N.Z. MAN’S DEATH IN ARGENTINA

SON OF FORMER MAYOR OF CHRISTCHURCH

Mr W. A. Reece, a Christchurchborn engineer who spent the greater part of his life in the Argentine and whose death was reported in “The Press” recently, was a son of Mr W. Reece, who was Mayor of Christchurch in 1900. His death came to the notice of the City Council when a copy of an Argentinian newspaper’s tribute to him was sent to the council.

The newspaper, in Spanish, has been handed to Mr Reece’s sister, Mrs L. M. Molineaux, of Christchurch. Mr Reece and his wife were involved in a motor accident, and Mr Reece died from his injuries. Had it not been for the accident he would now have been in Christchurch on holiday.
