Melbourne To Keep Olympic Games

(Bee. 1130 pun.) TOKYO, April 22. Mr Avery Brundage, president of the International Olympic Committee, today dismimed the possibility of the 1356 Games being taken from Melbourne. He told a press conference in Tokyo: “Melbourne realises its responsibility and wants to demonstrate that it can hold the Games.” Mr Brundage said Tokyo seemed to have all the facilities necessary to act as host for the 1960 Games, but it faced considerable opposition from other cities.
