Burge, equalled British Guiana’s total on his own. His 177 was made in dashing style. He attacked the bowling at evCTy opportunity. He was dropped at 71, but thereafter gave a faultless display of hard hit- ' After reaching his century in 184 minutes, he added the next 56 in only 47 minutes. He hit two sixes—one into the grandstand seats and the other on to the roof of the stand. He also scored 20 fours. Several other Australians also batted well today. Harvey, after making 58 in 76 minutes, threw his wicket away. His third wicket partnership with Burge realised 87 in 68 minutes. Archer, Benaud, and Davidson gained valuable practice for the third test, beginning next week. Miller, suffering a sore hand, scored a docile 33.
Wight took three Australian wickets for 112, and Madray took three for 122. Edun took the other wicket for 78.
