ANZAC DAY
R.S.A. MESSAGES OF GREETING (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 22. On behalf of the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association, • the Dominion President (Sir Howard Kippenberger) has sent messages of greeting on the occasion of Anzac Day to Field-Marshal Lord Birdwood, who commanded the New Zealand and Australian Artny Corps during the Gallipoli campaign; to Sir Alexander Godley, who commanded the Ist N.Z.E.F.; to the 29th Division, with which the New Zealand corps was closely associated; to the Commanding Officer of No. 14 (Fighter) Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force; and to the Commanding Officer of K . Force. The president of the 29th Division Association sent the following reply to his message of greeting: “In this fortieth anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli, the 29th Division sends it warmest remembrances to all New Zealand comrades.” Signed, Beauvior de Lisle.
MR HOLLAND TO ATTEND WELLINGTON CEREMONY
(New Zealand Preen Association) WELLINGTON, April 22. On Anzac Day the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) will attend the dawn parade in Wellington and later will place a wreath on the War Memorial during a civic ceremony at the Cenotaph. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr. D. J. Eyre) will represent the Government at the ceremony in Auckland. The Minister of External Affairs (Mr T- L. Macdonald) will do the same at Christchurch, and the Minister of Social Security (Mr E. H. Halstead) at Dunedin. Other Ministers of the Crown and private members will attend ceremonies in their respective electorates.
