RAY AMM KILLED CRASH IN RACE AT IMOLA (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) IMOLA (Italy), April 11. Ray Amm, of Rhodesia, was killed in the twenty-second lap of the second Gold Cup competition for 350 c.c. motor-cycles at Imola today. Amm, riding a four-cylinder M.V. Augusta. was in second place when he skidded off the track at a bend. He was rushed to hospital, where he died shortly afterwards. Ken Kavanagh (Australia), the winner, covered the 40 laps, totalling 125.12 miles, in Ihr 29min ssec, at average speed of 83.98 miles an hour. Enrico Lorenzetti, on a Guzzi, was second in Ihr 30min 29sec. Siegfried Wunsche (Germany) on a D.K.W., was third, one lap behind Kavanagh. Keith Campbell (Australia), on a Norton, was fifth. Liberto Liberati (Italy) won the 500 c.c. event on a Gilera in Ihr 46min 41.4 sec at an average speed of 88.02 miles an hour over the 50 laps, totalling 155.86 miles. Guiseppe Colnago (Italy), on a Gilera, was second, and Orlando Valdinoci (Italy), op a Gilera, was third. Australian placings were:—Ken Kavanagh (Guzzi) 4, a lap behind the winner; Jack Forrest (8.M.W.) 5; Keith Campbell (Norton) 6; Tony McAlpine (Norton) 7; Jack Ahearn B.
