Johnston) went faster over this distance, with more wetaht up soon after. The Dominion Handicap top-weight recorded Imin 19 24iec the last half-mile in 52sec, when he beat Fleur (W. Hamlin) by threequarters of a length.

Finished Strongly Lord Rowallan (A. J. Stokes) gave Phck Drill (D. F. Coombe) a start from the seven furlongs and beat Mm home by a length and a hplf In imin 32 2-ssec, the last half-mile taking 53 2-ssec. Blair) over half a mile, finishing the trial tour lengths clear in 51 3-ssec. Major Neptune was to have galloped with them but he refused to move off. Later his trainer <A. J. Zingabo had a wider lead until inside the furlong, the impetuous Watch and Wait being ridden in behind from the start. Macduff (D. F. Coombe) moved through on the inner to finish alongside Demijour (R. E. Johnstone) two lengths clear of Solstice (P. Hill), with Royal Warrant (K. Y. Cotton) to ® gap at the rear in a soundly-run mile. The distance was covered in Imin 45sec, the last half-mile in 52 l-fcec. Goldwyn (W. Quill) ended his work by sprinting half a mile in 51 He went strongly right to the finidi. On the Plough The stablemates Struggle (B. W. McDonald) and Scuppered (D. J; TWi’ toll) sprinted from seven furlongs. They recorded Imin 6sec for the lilt five furlongs and 39 4-ssec for the lilt three. Sir William (L. J. Ellis) beat Michael Brierly (G. W. Mein) home from the mile by three-quarters of a length to Imin 47 2-ssec. Sir William could have bettered that time, and his 39iec for the last three furlongs. He is in iplendid order. Passchenedaele (D. J. Thistoll) WH alongside his stablemate Spike Jonei (J. Currie) after running seven for* longs in Imin 33 4-ssec. They re* corded 53sec for the last half-mile and 38sec for the concluding Jhree furlongs. Spike Jones, with a WP[weight up, was keen to increase hli speed at the finish. Declare (A. J. Stokes) narrowly beat his stablemate, Copenhagen (W. Kaylin), home from the six furlona J® Imin 18sec. Thev sprinted the flirt two furlongs in 26 3-ssec and the fln* l three boldly in 37 4-ssec. Great Tom (A. J. Stokes) did well to stay with the Great Easter candidate Rio Negro (B. S. Finlayson) in * fast-run six furlongs. They ran th* distance in Imin 15sec, the last foj r furlongs in 49 4-ssec, and the concluding three in 37 3-ssec. It was a iman trial. Skylight (N. Bonney) beat Monttoie IJ. Currie) by three-quarten of ■ length over five furlongs. They sprinted the last three attractively m 37 4-ssec. Dixie Leigh (M. D. Alexander), Tew (F. H. Skelton), and Royal Glade jG. W. Mein) were abreast after running six furlongs in Imin 18 2-ssec, last four in 51sec. , . D. P.
