CANTERBURY EXECUTIVE MEETS The Canterbury executive of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers met yesterday, when it was announced that a school for officers would be held on the first Wednesday in May and that accommodation for t 7 e .JS rs t residential school to be held /Te Kiteroa,” Waimate, from June a 3 * Jun ® 17 had been fully booked. At the school lectures would be given on such subjects as interior decoration, the making of loose covers, the covering of eiderdowns, gardening, and floral art.

Ambridge reported that she was receiving many requests for housekeepers, but could not supply the demand as the executive now had only one full-time and one part-time housekeeper. She urged branches to help in securing the services of suita k? women to undertake the work. »ir George Manning and Mrs Enid Frye judged the competition for a cup to the division by Miss C. Wilding. The subject on which the two competitors spoke was “A woman who Has made a worthy contribution towards international peace.” The winner was Mrs W. R. Hope, of Dunsandel. She will compete in the final ?■ c ° m Petition, to be held in WelJune. Mrs Orchard presided at the meeting.
