The figures for the Auckland district are not yet available, but it is known that they will be at least 65. Official figures for the other districts are:— Canterbury 42, Taranaki 31, Manawatu 30, Otago 30, Gisborne 14, Wellington 8. There were no drownings on patrolled beaches.
