ARMS CACHE IN CYPRUS
Discovery By Police
(Rec. 8 p.m.) NICOSIA (Cyprus), April 5. Police and British troops tonight intensified the search throughout the island for arms and explosives after a week-end of terrorist bomb-throwing.
One result of the search was the discovery in Limassol of a secret explosives and ammunition dump containing 3001 b of gelignite, 601 b of T.N.T., 4500 rounds of small arms ammunition, and 24 hand-grenades. In Athens the State-controlled Athens Radio tonight dropped its regular commentary on the Cyprus issue after a strong protest against Greek broadcasts to the colony lodged earlier by the British Ambassador, Sir Charles Peake.
Observers noticed that the tone of the broadcast was milder than usual. Sir Charles Peake made his protest when he called on the Greek Foreign Minister, Mr Stefoepoulos. It was the second such protest.
