POLICEWOMAN’S TRANSFER
SERGEANT AND WIFE TO BE REUNITED
Constable Roa Morrissey, of the women’s division of the Police Force, will soon be transferred from Greymonth, where she has 'been stationed for the last 12 months, back to Christchurch. Recently 80 members of the Greymouth Pensioners’ Association protested to the Minister of Police (Mr Holland) against the separation of Constable Morrissey and her husband, who is a sergeant of police at Christchurch. The association protested against the separation on the ground “that it is directly opposed to Christian principles of morality and humanity.’’ It considered the transfer had been completely unnecessary. The petition was presented to Mr Holland by Mr J. B. Kent, member of Parliament for Westland. Last week Mr Holland said that “the position would be looked into.’’
