CAPPING WEEK ACTIVITIES
GRADUATION CEREMONY ON MAY 10 Capping week, the week of festivities that marks the conferment of degrees and diplomas at Canterbury University College, will begin this year on Friday, April 29. On the same day, the students' revue, entitled ‘‘Wholly
Deadlock,” will open at the Civic Theatre. The producer of the revue is Mr Mervyn Glue, and the musical director is Mr T. Birch.
The service for graduands will be held in the Christchurch Cathedral at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. On May 10 the graduation ceremony will be held in the Civic Theatre.
There will be a bicycle race along he Avon, between the Antigua street ‘nd Gloucester street bridges, on May > at 1.30 p.m.
The traditional capping procession will take place on the morning of May 9, and hundreds of students will conduct a street collection. The proceeds from this collection and the sale of capping magazines will be used to help to establish a training centre for intellectually handicapped children.
