ALLEGATION OF LIBEL

MR GOOSMAN SEEKS ISSUE OF WRIT (New. Zealand Prest Association) WELLINGTON, March 21. Notice haa been given in the Magistrate's Court in Wellington of the intention of the Minister in charge of the State Hydro-electric Department (Mr W. S. Goosman) to apply for leave to issue a writ tor libel under the Crimes Act against the publisher and the editor of the “Standard,” the official organ, of the New Zealand Labour movement. Both the editor and the publisher of the newspaper have been served with notice of the Minister’s intention. The application concerns an article published in the “Standard” last week m which the deaths of men working on high-tension power lines were discussed.
