McKee, 406 Barrington street, Spreydon, have pleasure in announcing the engagement of their second daughter, Ngaira Louise, to Alton Campbell Ross, elder son of Mrs R. G. Goldien, 193 Kilmore street, Christchurch. Mr and Mrs W. Garth, of Linwood, announce the engagement of their youngest daughter, Barbara Joan, to Raymond Bethel, son of Mrs and the late Mr G. C. Fiezd, of St. Albans. Mr and Mrs C. E. Heard, of Shirley, have much pleasure in announcing the engagement of their second eldest daughter, Barbara Elizabeth, to Malcolm Campbell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. E. Graham, of Shirley. The engagement is announced of Ruth Audrey Elliot, elder daughter, of Mr T. W. B. Hamilton, and of the late Mrs Hamilton, “Matewai,” Redcliff, Waimate, to James Rollinson, eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. A. Bell, “Glenlone,” Waihaorunga, Waimate.
Altar decorations were demonstrated by Mrs H. E. Radley at the March meeting of the Beckenham-Huntsbury Garden Club. Competitions resulted: trough of dahlias, A class: Mrs Elcock 1, Mrs Roberts 2, Mrs Hall 3- B Mn Robson 1, Mrs Hoskings 2, Mrs Sparkes 3.
