CHEESE

Sir,—l think many of us will be grateful to Mr Hunter for bis timely letter on cheese and its very inferior quality. Whether one speaks to man or woman, the reply is the same. Wc never buy cheese as it is tasteless and goes dry almost immediately. It is so different from the beautiful, tastv Barry’s Bay cheese of years ago. notice that Britain and Canada say “No more cheese from New Zealand.” Is it a polite way of saying “We have had it.” Why should we in New Zealand have to take second grade cheese while first grade is sent overseas? So much of our once beautiful food shows deterioration. Is it to make more money from inferior quality? Bread and sweet milk have also deteriorated.—Yours, etc., GRANNY.
