Aircraft Engine on Fire.—The engine of a Harvard aircraft caught fire when it was being tested after repairs at the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Wigram about 7.50 p.m. on Thursday. The engine was being revved up by a mechanic as the aircraft stodd against chocks on the tarmac outside No. 2 hanger. A blustery southerly wind was blowing, and the aircraft tipped forward on its nose and the engine caught fire. A station tender arrived almost immediately. and the fire was quickly put out. The mechanic was not hurt, and the aircraft will be repaired.
