The weather forecast, issued at 9 pjn. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation.—A ridge of high pressure lies over northern New Zealand, and a slow-moving front is advancing northwards over the South Island. Forecast:— West Coast.—Light or moderate northerlies in Buller and North Westland. easterlies in the south; weather cloudy and mild, with occasional rain; outlook, unsettled. Nelson and Marlborough.—Light to moderate winds developing from a southerly quarter; weather cloudy and warm; occasional light rain' outlook unsettled. Canterbury.—Moderate north-east winds developing; weather overcast, with scattered light rain at first; moderate temperatures; outlook, cloudy weather. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine, with a light north-east wind in the morning and a light south-westerly in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 713 degrees. At midnight, the sky was almost overcast, and a light west-south-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 57.1 degrees. The barometer, at »-87 inches. (1011.6 minibars), was steady.
