(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 8. K. F. H. Smith, J. E. F. Beck, and T. G. McMahon are included in the Wellington team to play the M.C.C. at the Basin Reserve in the matca beginning on March 19.
The team, which was announced by .he chairman of the Wellington Cricket Association (Mr H. W. Osborn) at a social function in honour of the Plunket Shield team this evening, is as follows: J. R. Stumps at Polo Grounds.—When Polo Ground teams meet,/ the first-named are to provide stumps. Polo Ground teams should provide stumps when the opposition team’s home ground is not the Polo Ground. When two teams meet whose home ground is not at Polo, then stumps should be drawn from and returned to the shed at the back of the Christ’s College pavilion.

ST. ALBANS CLUB’S JUBILEE
The St. Albans cricket club, formed when district cricket was introduced in Christchurch, is to celebrate its fiftieth anniversary soon. The club has produced a long list of representative players, and its growth and success can be credited to the many men who have played a notable part in the administration of sport. When the club held its first meeting in the Wesleyan Church schoolroom in Rugby street on August 31, 1905, Mr T. W. Reese, the noted cricket historian, was in the chair, and the chairman of the first committee was Mr A. E. G. Rhodes. Sir Heaton Rhodes was elected a vice-president, an office he has held ever since. The other vicepresident was Mr H. D. Carter, the club captain Mr Reese, the secretary Mr J. Jackman, the treasurer Mr F. O’Brien, and the committee Messrs R. Vincent, G. T. Weston, H. N. Talbot, J Todhunter. S. G. Barrett, A. Taylor and W. C.' H. Wigley. A foundation member w,as Mr C. S. Thompson, who has a remarkable record of unbroken service for the club; he has held every office in his 50 years’ association with St. Albans.
The club played from the beginning at Hagley park, and although several times efforts were made to secure another ground, that is where its headquarters have remained. Among the many Canterbury and New Zealand play.ers from the club are E. E. Crawshaw, D. Sandman, F. Woods, H. Bishop, R. G. Hickmott, L. R. Brunton, T. Carlton, T. W. Reese,;
D. W. Reese, C. W. Allard, C. G. Crawford, A. W. Thomas, R. C. Webb, F. P. O’Brien, M. B. Poore, T. B. Burtt, W. Bell, M. L. Page, D. Stark, G. G. Coull, P. G. Z. Harris, E. Mulcock, J. Smith, M. Graham and W. E. Merritt. A programme including a dinner, h as been drawn up to mark the jubilee, and it is hoped to have in attendance many former members of the club as well as present ones.
