NATIONAL PARTY CAUCUS
ECONOMIC POLICY DISCUSSED
ADDRESS BY MINISTER OF IMMIGRATION
(New Zealand Press Auoctation) WELLINGTON, February 24. A caucus of the Parliamentary National Party had had a "useful general discussion” on economic policy, said the Acting Prime Minister (Mr K. J. Holyoake) this evening. The Minister of Immigration (Mr 3. R. Hanan) had addressed the caucus on immigration policy, Mr Holyoake said. Various administrative topics were discussed at this evening’s session.
This morning, Mr Holyoake read to the caucus a letter from the Prime Minister (Mr Holland), outlining his discussions at the London conference of Commonwealth Prime Ministers.The caucus approved a message of appreciation to the Prime Minister for the results of his mission.
Several issues on the work of Parliament and the Government party, were raised, and Mr Holyoake said he reported to caucus on the work of the Cabinet and its committees since the election.
