Construction of Booml— The weight of buses was now being reduced by the use of all-alloy construction of the bodies, said Nt J. W. F. Welch, chief engineer of the Auckland Transport [ Board, at the annual conference of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers in Christchurch. He regarded fibreglass as having a remarkable potential for. the future. Some of the buses his ' board was getting in the next year . would have fibre-glass ends front and rear, he said.
