TOWN PLANNING

Sir, —In answer to “R.A.’s” letter this morning, the present zoning has no legal status, but is founded on resolutions of the council only. There is no stability in these resolutions as they can be passed at one meeting and abandoned at the next. The intrusion of commerce and industry next to . the homes of the people, against the wishes of the people, is to be deplored. I intend to ask for a poll, to be taken on this matter when the town hall site poll is taken.—Yours, etc., R. WOODHOUSE. February 14, 1955.
