CHEVIOT LICENSING TRUST

RESIDENTS’ MOTION OF CONFIDENCE Residents of Cheviot, who have offered financial support to the Cheviot Licensing Trust, passed a motion of confidence in the trust committee and expressed the wish that the committee should carry on with the application for a hotel as in the amended plan, at a recent meeting. The motion, which was moved by Mr N. R. Wilkinson and seconded by Mr C. H. Upham, was carried unanimously. The secretary said that it was difficult to compare the financial results of the proposed trust hotel with any other hotel because of the distance to the nearest competition. From the only information available it would appear that the profit should be close to £l5OO a year, after the first year.
