VIETNAMESE ARMY TRAINING
Plan With French And U.S. Instructors (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SAIGON, February 13. A plan to train the Vietnamese Army with United States and French instructors began on Saturday. The plan, modelled on American training in Korea. Formosa, and the Philippines, is directed by General John O’Daniel. He will work under the French Commander-in-Chief (General Paul Ely). The Vietnamese Defence Minister (Mr Ho Thong Kminh) said that the army will consist of 140,000 regulars and a bigger number of reserves.
