Five Men Shot Dead In Spanish Cafe
(Rec. 11 pjm.) MADRID, February 14. Arturo Santamaria Rioja, aged 37, was shot dead by police who cornered him after he shot five men dead in a coffee lounge at Vittoria, in Spain. Rioja strode into the lounge at 1 a.m., drew two pistols and shot five men dead as they sipped their coffee. He tossed the weapons to a waiter and walked out.
Thousands of persons yesterday afternoon filed past the coffins of the victims—a banker, a judge, a government official, a solicitor and a barrister.
