Chinese Leader’s Death

(Rec. 9 p.m.) HONG KONG, Feb. 13. Mr Chang Lan, one of the leading policy-makers of the Chinese Communist Government, who died on Wednesday at the age of 84, of arterio-sclerosis, was buried today, the Peking Radio reported in Chinese. Mr Liu Shao-cnoi, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Mr Chou En-lai, the Prime Minister, Mr Peng Chen, the Mayor of Peking, and other leading Chinese leaders attended the funeral. Mr Chang Lan was nameu vicechairman. of the standing committee of the National People’s Congress when it was constituted last September. He had previously been vice-chairman of the People’s Republic of China since 1949.
