U.S. BOMBERS GROUNDED

(Rec. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 11. The United States Air Force today grounded all B-57 jet bombers, the American version of the British Canberra, as the result of two crashes this week. The action was described “as a precautionary safety measure.” The Glenn Martin Company, which builds the bombers, wants to investigate the two accidents in Jvhich three airmen were killed, it was reported.

Monarchists Fined in Spain.—Three Spanish monarchists have been fined about £lOO each on charges of helping to organise a Monarchist welcome in Madrid for Princess Maria Christina of Bourbon, sister to the Spanish Prete/ider, Don Juan. About 400 Monarchist sympathisers gathered at the Madrid airport on Wednesday night when the Princess landed on her way to Lisbon to attend the wedding today of Princess Maria Pia of Italy.—Madrid, February 13.
