WOMEN’S BOWLING TOURNAMENT

FINAL OF N.Z. PAIRS TODAY (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 13. Two teams which have won all their matches in the tournament will contest th# final of the New Zealand women’s pairs bowling championship on the Miramar green tomorrow morning. They are Mesdames L. Shepherd-Wilson and L. Tricker (Lower Hutt) and Mesdames B.' O’Hara and J. Lawrence (Otahuhu). They had six wins—the maximum —in the section play, and retained their consistent form to eliminate their opponents in Saturday’s games. The game between Mesdames O’Hara and Lawrence and Mesdames M. Dempsey and J. Dempster (Wanganui) was full of interest. Mesdames Dempsey and Dempster led till the eighteenth end, when Mesdames O’Hara and Lawrence took the initiative to win, 24-18. The greens were in excellent condition, and the weather the best so far during the tourney. Libya to Attend African-Asian Talks.—Libya has accepted an invitation to attend the African-Asian conference, to be held at Bundung, Indonesia, in April, Mustapha Ben Halim, the Prime Minister, told the Council of Ministers today. The Prime Minister -will head Libya’s delegation— Benghazi. February 10.
