PUBLIC SERVICE BURSARIES
AWARDS FOR STUDIES IN ENGINEERING
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, February 4.
The Public Service Commission announces the award of engineering bursaries for full-time university study to the following:— D. Beauchamp (Picton), A. G. Brady (Auckland), G. M. Bruce (Wellington), G. H. Caddie (Wellington), R. B. Cotter (Hamilton), D. G. Cox (Dunedin), P. B. Davenport (Wellington), I. W. Gunn (Gore), G. A. Leggat (Nelson), P. F. Menzies (P.ahiatua), G. H. Powell (Blenheim). J. M. Raine (Featherston), G- N. Robinson (Nelson), R. P. Stevens (Dargaville), H. R. Thorpe (Otaki). Competitively selected from a large field of applicants, the bursars are either post-primary school boys with very good records or university students who have passed sections of their degrees with credit. They have been appointed to either the Ministry of Works or the State Hydro-electric Department. Public Service engineering bursars undertake to continue in the employment of the Public Service for five years after they have completed their degrees.
