LIQUOR TRUST FINANCES

GOVERNMENT POLICY COMMENDED

VIEWS OF NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND), February 4. The Government was to be congratulated on its decision to assist licensing trusts to put into effect the expressed wishes of the people, the secretary of the New Zealand Alliance (Mr N. A. Reynolds) said today. It was to be hoped that the Government’s decision would place the administrative policy of trusts on such a basis that they would not be further embarrassed financially, he said. There was no doubt the policy of the trusts in discouraging drunkenness, rigidly enforcing closed hours, and emphasising good hotel accommodation commended them to the public, Mr Reynolds said.
