LYTTELTON BOROUGH COUNCIL SCHEME

COMMISSION TO HEAR OBJECTIONS

A group of manufacturers which met yesterday under the auspices of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association will recommend to the council of the association that objection be taken to the constitution of part of the Heathcote county as an underground water area and the constitution of the Lyttelton Borough Council as the underground water authority for that area. An objection has already, been lodged and a commission has been set up to inquire into the constitution of the area. The commission, under the chairmanship of Mr F. F. Reid v S.M., has to consider all objectiohs and appeals, and is required to report to the Minister of Works (Mr W. S. Goosman) before March 31.
