ARCTIC PLANE SERVICE
DIRECT ROUTE TO AMSTERDAM CJ*.A. AIRLINERS FROM AUCKLAND (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. January 27. A direct air service from Auckland across the northern polar regions to Amsterdam will be begun early in May by Canadian Pacific Airlines, according to Mr A. W. Essex, C.P.A. manager in Auckland, who has just returned from Vancouver. , The new service will be an extension of the existing one between Auckland and Vancouver. It will give New Zealanders their first opportunity of flying to Europe without changing from one airline to another. The aircraft used to start this “onecarrier, one-plane” service will be C.P.A. long-range DC-6B*s. Passengers will be able to leave Auckland on one of these on Friday evening, spend a day and a night in Honolulu? and ar-1 nve in Europe on Monday morning. Direct connexions from Amsterdam will be available to London and to all the principal cities of Europe.
