TRANSFER OF CIVIL JURISDICTION

LONDON, January 24. British troops stationed in West Germany will shortly be briefed on how they will be affected by the restoration of West German sovereignty under the Paris Agreements the Bonn con*espondent of the “Daily Mail” •aid today. The new rules are set out in a booklet already distributed among unit commanders.

Besides becoming in most cases subject to West German law and penalties, British troops whether in uniform or mufti would have to carry identity cards and produce them on request by the German authorities. The major transfer of cases to the German civil courts would be in paternity suits, of which there are many outstanding, the “Daily Mail” said.
