AN APPRECIATION

Sir,—On behalf of those who were fire-fighting at Kennedy’s Bush on the night of Thursday last, I would like to express our gratitude to the members of the Salvation Army, who carried gallons of tea and sandwiches down an exceedingly rough and steep hillside. Their task was made extremely difficult, as it was a very dark night They continued to serve these refreshments until after midnight Many of us remembered the wonderful help they gave in similar circumatances three wears ago.—Yours, etc „ , ~ J- WATUNG. Halswell, January 24, 1955.
